AMA Motocross SMX Chase Sexton Eli Tomac Haiden Deegan Jett Lawrence Jorge PradoFrom Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart's historic battle back in 2006 to Haiden Deegan's first 250MX sweep in 2023, Washougal delivers. The hard-pack circuit, nestled in one of the United States' most picturesque settings, is poised to host a round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship for the 35th time (after its first in 1983).
Chase Sexton has won four of the last five 450MX rounds at Washougal. Jett Lawrence has, consequently, won just once in the premier division (another win in 250MX boosts his résumé). Eli Tomac is a three-time victor in 450MX – his last came in 2019 – and that's where the list of 'active' victors ends. How will this weekend's action tweak the scorecard?
Friday's (July 24) press day festivities provided a sneak peek at who could prosper amongst the trees. The Honda HRC Progressive team, as well as Red Bull KTM Factory Racing (could Jorge Prado be a factor?), turned initial laps around the layout.
